What To Expect

VanDusen Botanical Garden
Along with the wondrous plants this garden holds, the VanDusen Botanical Garden also houses a significant sculpture collection that featuring artists such as Bill Reid, David Marshall, and Sebastian. The International Sculpture Symposium, held here in 1975, created 11 original works to begin the permanent collection and it has expanded since then. For the architecture lovers, the Garden's multi-award winning LEED Platinum Visitor Centre was named Most Sustainable Building of the Year in 2014. Shaped like an orchid when viewed from above, its organic lines echo the way nature and conservation have been considered at every turn. VanDusen has something for everyone to enjoy! Well worth a visit

This is an excellent garden, I haven’t been there for some years (I am a regular visitor from England) and regret not having been here before. A lovely morning walking round with the bonus of the harvest exhibit.
We’ll worth a visit

If you want to see a garden while in Vancouver, this is a good option. You can easily spend a couple of hours wandering around this garden which showcases plants and trees from around the world at a fraction of the cost of Butchart Gardens on Vancouver Island. This is a seasonal garden so your experience will vary depending upon when you visit. The garden staff keep the place in very good order. There is also a decent cafe on site.
Beautiful Gardens

VanDusen Botanical Gardens are beautiful. Truly a gem. Wonderful to walk around the gardens and seeing all the specimens on view.

The light show was well laced out and huge well worth the time and money. Despite heavy rain the gardens were packed.worth the time
nice gardens

This is probably really cool during the peak season. It was nice to change the admission price for the off season because the gardens were rather plain when not in bloom. The light displays were set up for the Festival of Lights which was pretty nice, and the cafe inside was nice as well. We went while it was raining but most of the garden has paved paths which was very helpful.
Lovely Garden For a Day out

This is a lovely botanical garden. I have only been to one other, which is in Sydney and I found the Vancouver botanical garden to be much bigger with more variety. My family and I had a great time strolling.. It's a really lovely place to walk around, take pictures or literally stop and smell the roses !

It is definitely a place that one can visit the year around. Only thing I would add is that they need to work on the signs and posts as most of the places aren't marked and without the paper map (and sometimes even with the paper map), it is hard to figure out which part of the garden you are in
